Race Discrimination in These Four Movies

 12 Years As A Slave      The movie starts with a flashback or memories of Solomon Northup. He is a slave on a plantation farm. He begins to tell the story of how he came to be a slave.In early life, he was married and had two children. He is a born free black man. He is a musician who plays the violin. This is an upper-class black job for black people. Wherever he goes, everyone likes his playing of the violin. He has a wonderful wife. He lives like white people live. One day, he meets two guys who bring him a new, well-paid job. In order to prove their reality, they invite Northup to dinner. But when he goes there, they drug him and take him to a slave camp. So he is kidnapped and sold to the whites. They changed his name because he had thrown away his own freedom paper.They beat him and insulted him.      Northup is so nave and calm that he thinks that some other men got him into this place. But actually, the men that he trusts so much are the ones that got him into this place. And

Racial Discrimination In The Movie, Harriet (2019)

 Harriet (2019)      The first film that I want to give information about is Harriet. This film takes place in a slave camp.It is about a couple who live there. Their names are Jhon and Minty. They want to marry and leave this camp to raise their children in freedom and peace. In the early stages, we see that Jhon brings a letter from his lawyer to Minty. It is the key to finding their freedom. After they and their society sing gospel on Sunday, Jhon and Minty go to talk about that letter with their master, Edward Brodess. The letter is about the last wishes of Edward’s great grandfather, Atthow Pattison. The letter says that they are all going to be free when they are 45 years old. But Edward Brodess aggressively tears the letter and calls him a niggar. Mindy defended themselves by saying that it was illegal. I think we can trust lawyers. With the help of this trust, I can say that the government doesn’t do its job properly. Or maybe they don’t care about black people. At this scene,

  11.01.2021               Sıradanlaşmış olarak sana kaç kere yazdığımı unuttum. Artık hatırlayamıyorum seni, yavaşça, aylar içinde yıllar, yıllar içinde birkaç anı, anıların içinde de sen gittin, kayboldun. Biliyorum şuan sana yazmamın ne kadar anlamsız ve sığ olduğunu. Seni tanıdıktan sonradan beri ne kötü şey yaşadıysam uzaklardaki sana sığındım, sen hissetmedin belki, belki de hissettin. Hep acaba aklının ucundan geçiyor muyum diye düşünmüşümdür, hala düşünmüyorum. Bir aralar senin gibi biri ile asla tanışamayacağıma ve aslı aynı hisleri hissedemeyeceğime inanmıştım, hala inanmıyorum.             Herkesin hayatı ağırdır bana göre. Bazılarının evreninde yer çekimi dünyada olduğu gibi bir değildir sadece. Olayın bundan ibaret olmasının kimine göre konu ile hiç alakası yoktur oysa, çünkü onlar çoktan tutunuyordur. Bir açıdan da kendimin çok fazla tutunduğuna ve kendimi kurtarmak için nefes   nefese bile kaldığıma yemin edebilirim ki normalde olması gereken bu mudur aslında ?
